For four consecutive years, PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk (WTON) has successfully maintained its achievements at the prestigious national SNI Award 2023, organized by the National Standardization Agency (BSN) on Thursday (16/11) evening in Jakarta. On this occasion, WTON became the only domestic precast concrete producer to successfully pass rigorous assessments, earning the Silver award in the Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Health, Textile, Energy, and Mineral Resources Sector category.
Director of Engineering and Production of WIKA Beton Verly Widiantoro, expressed pride in WIKA Beton`s achievement when receiving the award. WIKA Beton currently holds the Product Usage Certificate (SPPT) for SNI 6880:2016. This signifies that every aspect of WIKA Beton`s precast concrete production process ensures its quality, including the concrete constituent materials,mix designreinforcement and prestressed steel, molding criteria, mouldingproduction process, casting, and finishing..
The SNI Award is a form of appreciation from the Indonesian government to businesses and organizations that consistently apply Indonesian National Standards (SNI). In the 18th edition of this event, the theme is "Standardization for Sustainable Economic Growth."
The SNI Award assessment is based on the organization`s performance across 7 criteria: leadership, strategy, customers, resource management, operations (business processes), analysis and performance improvement, and business results. These criteria are developed based on the SNI ISO 9004:2018 Quality Management-Quality of an Organization-Guidance to Achieve Sustainable Success approach, as well as other performance assessment systems.
As information, WIKA Beton has taken several important steps to create a sustainable business, such as using solar cells for lighting electricity throughout the factory area, optimizing production wastewater, and using fly ash waste in concrete mixtures to reduce cement consumption. This year, WIKA Beton has also initiated the installation of Roof Solar Power Plants in its 2 (two) factories.
