WIKA Beton Grouted Splice Sleeve with High TKDN Value

Grouted Splice Sleeve is a tool used in reinforced concrete construction to connect two reinforcing bars. It is used by filling the space in sleeve dengan grout the sleeve with grout (a mixture of cement and water) to provide structural strength and maintain rigidity between the bars being connected. This tool helps in avoiding shifting or rotation of the reinforcement, as well as improving the overall structural performance.

In contrast to local cast concrete structures where the casting is done monolithically, the different concrete members such as walls, floors, and columns are cast together in one stage, creating a stronger and cohesive unit. This can reduce potential problems associated with joints or seams between separate elements.

However, this method can also be more complex in terms of planning and execution, and requires good coordination. In Indonesia, the procurement of Grouted Splice Sleeve is still imported from abroad with quite expensive prices and a long procurement time, the use Grouted Splice Sleeve of imported Grouted Splice Sleeves becomes less efficient. Therefore, to increase competitiveness in the precast building product business, WIKA Beton developed a local splice sleeve mechanical connection splice sleeve joints where materials and production are carried out domestically. Not only that, the grouting material the grouting used is also produced domestically.

Grouted Splice Sleeve developed by WIKA Beton is called the WTON Splice Sleeve. The purpose of developing the WTON Splice Sleeve is to achieve cost efficiency, speed up the procurement process, and increase the TKDN (Domestic Component Level) value in precast building structure products.

The advantage of the WTON splice sleeve lies on the inside of the steel sleeve which has a spiral thread. This aims to increase the bond strength between the inner surface of the steel sleeve and the grouting material. the grouting. The WTON splice sleeve is made of gray cast iron class FCD 500 according to JIS G-5502, with a minimum compressive strength of the grouting material reaching 70 MPa at 28 days of age. WIKA Beton developed WTON splice sleeves such as WTONSS-04-D25 to connect D25 steel bars and WTONSS-05-D29 to connect D29 steel bars.

In verifying the strength of reinforcing steel joints using WTON splice sleeve joints, a tensile strength test is carried out on the joints. The test results show that this connection system meets SNI 2847:2019 standards as a type 2 mechanical connection. In 2022, the WTON splice sleeve product splice sleeve joints has been successfully used in the Cooling Tower The Morowali Aim project in Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi. The use of this product is to connect precast column components with the foundation of the building.
