Gerakkan Perekonomian, WIKA Beton Ikut Dorong Pembangunan Kawasan Industri Malili

Driving Economic Growth, WIKA Beton Supports the Development of the Malili Industrial Estate

Eastern Indonesia is currently transforming into a new economic hub. One of the primary drivers of this growth is the Malili Industrial Estate in East Luwu, South Sulawesi, which is currently constructing various industrial facilities, including a large-scale integrated port.

To ensure the robust structural integrity of this port, PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk (WIKA Beton) is supplying spun piles for its foundation. On Wednesday (7/1), WIKA Beton dispatched its inaugural shipment of hundreds of concrete spun piles from the Bogor Plant to the port project site owned by PT Indonesia Huabao Industrial Park (IHIP).

Given that this port will eventually serve as the primary access point for the industrial estate’s operations, the required foundation must undoubtedly be exceptionally strong.* WIKA Beton specifically manufactured 633 units of massive spun piles, each measuring 1.2 meters in diameter and 20 meters in length.

These substantial specifications were chosen deliberately. With these dimensions, the piles are capable of penetrating stably into the hard soil layers of the seabed, effectively bearing the heavy loads of industrial activities, and ensuring exceptional resistance against destructive seawater corrosion.

Interestingly, despite their massive and robust nature, these piles are also environmentally friendly. Manufactured on Line 8 of the Bogor Plant, these products have secured international eco-friendly certifications, namely the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and the Greenship Solution Endorsement (GSE).

The construction of this port is expected to pave the way for accelerated economic progress in the eastern region. Meanwhile, for WIKA Beton, this initiative within the State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) and Danantara ecosystem serves as a strong catalyst to continually achieve positive corporate performance moving forward.
