Infrastructure Recovery in Palu
WIKA Beton Deployed Heavy Equipment to Assist Recovery in Donggala
The earthquake and tsunami disaster that hit Palu-Donggala and surrounding areas on September 28, 2018 still leaves a lot of infrastructure work to be addressed. Seeing this, WIKA Beton was intended to deploy heavy equipment in the form of breakers from WIKA Beton Unit, Donggala Crushing Plant. Working closely with Basarnas, this breaker tool has been mobilised to aid demolition of the ruins of infrastructure in Palu-Donggala started in early October.
The heavy equipment began operating to help demolition of the airport tower at Mutiara Sis Al Jufrie Airport, Palu. Furthermore, on Tuesday afternoon (9/10) the breaker moved towards Anutapura Hospital in Palu. In accordance with the orders of the Governor of Central Sulawesi, a breaker and excavator will be used to encourage the recovery of infrastructure at various points around Palu-Donggala. Until today, the breaker is still being used and operated in the area around Dunia Restaurant Baru, Palu (16/10).
In addition to the operation of heavy equipment, WIKA Beton as part of WIKA as the Holding Company also continues to distribute the logistics assistance needed by the victims. Some volunteers will continue to be sent in turn as a manifestation of moral support to the survivors in Palu-Donggala and surrounding areas.
